Gator Bowl

Indiana will be facing Tennessee in the 75th TaxSlayer Gator Bowl hosted on Thursday, January 2, 2020. The game will take place at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Hoosiers are currently 0-1 against the Volunteers in the history of the series, with the last and only match up between the two taking place in the 1987 Peach Bowl that ended in a 27-22 victory for the Volunteers. That game took place on January 2, 1988, exactly 32 years prior to the two teams’ upcoming Gator Bowl matchup.

IU v Michigan

The Hoosiers weren't the same after Payton Ramsey appeared to take a hard shot to the midsection. He stayed down on the field for several minutes before walking off, returned on the next series and led the Hoosiers to their second score but never got Indiana close again. The Hoosiers have lost two straight since clinching their first winning season in 12 years.

After Stevie Scott opened the game with his 1-yard scoring run, Shea Patterson hooked up with Ronnie Bell for a 6-yard TD pass to tie the score. Donovan Peoples-Jones tied it at 14 with a spectacular, spinning 11-yard TD catch.

Patterson gave Michigan its first lead with a perfect 24-yard scoring strike to Nico Collins with 5:33 left in the first half, Quinn Nordin's 24-yard field goal made it 24-14 and the Wolverines sealed the victory with a 76-yard TD pass from Patterson to Collins and Dylan McCaffrey's conversion run midway through the third.

Collins tacked on the final score on a 19-yard catch with 1:39 left in the third to make it 39-14. He had six receptions for a career high 165 yards.

Ramsey was 17 of 29 with 217 yards and one interception while Scott ran 13 times for 54 yards.

This wasn't just another loss to Michigan. It was humbling and costly. In addition to Ramsey's injury, left tackle Matthew Bedford and Scott were injured on the same play with 40 seconds left in the third quarter. Bedford was carted off the field while Scott limped off.

IU @ Penn State

Both teams lost their star receivers in the first half. KJ Hamler for STATE left in the first quarter after he returned a kickoff but didn't appear shaken up as he walked off.

Indiana's Whop Philyor had to be helped to the locker room after he was sandwiched between Penn State defenders, taking helmet-to-helmet contact from both and fumbling away the ball in the process.

Peyton Ramsey completed 31 of 41 passes for 371 yards and a touchdown and ran for two more for the Hoosiers (7-3, 4-3) who outgained Penn State 462 to 371.

The Hoosiers kept Penn State's offense off-balance most of the way. They also got stops on defense until they needed one most late in the fourth quarter. Final score 27-34 Lions.

IU @ Maryland

With Payton Ramsey leading the way for an injured Michal Penix  the Hoosiers  amassed 520 yards, including 334 through the air against the worst pass defense in the conference. Ramsey went 20 for 27 and ran for 46 yards.

Penix was 9 for 14 for 141 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Stevie Scott took care of the ground game, grinding out 108 yards and two touchdowns.

It was still 31-28 with 3:42 remaining when Indiana's Juwan Burgess stripped the ball from Leake and pounced on the loose ball at the Maryland 15. That set up a field goal, and the Terrapins got to the Indiana 42 before an interception ended their final threat. Final score Hoosiers 34 – Terrapins 28

IU @ Michigan State

Matt Coghlin made a tie-breaking 21-yard field goal with 5 seconds remaining.

After Coghlin's kick gave the Spartans  a 34-31 lead, Indiana tried to lateral its way down the field on its final offensive play, but that resulted in a fumble that Michigan State recovered for a touchdown resulting in a nine point 40-31 final score.

Michael Penix Jr. returned for Indiana after missing the previous two games with an undisclosed injury -- and he gave the Spartans fits, completing 20 passes in a row during one stretch.

Penix completed his last seven pass attempts of the first half and his first 13 of the second, (a school record of twenty straight completions)  but Michigan State held the Hoosiers to a field goal in the red zone to start the third quarter.

Indiana went ahead 24-21 with 14:52 remaining in the fourth on a 12-yard touchdown pass from Penix to Donavan Hale, who appeared to make the catch with one hand while cornerback Josiah Scott was draped all over him.

The Hoosiers had an impressive game plan, throwing quick, short passes and largely negating Michigan State's pass rush. It wasn't enough for a win.

IU v U Conn

Peyton Ramsey threw three touchdown passes and linebacker Cam Jones returned an interception for his first career touchdown  as Indiana rolled past Connecticut 38-3.

The Hoosiers (3-1, 0-1 Big Ten) have won 17 of their last 18 nonconference games including all three this season -- this one coming a week after a 41-point loss to No. 6 Ohio State.

he Hoosiers' last three games have been decided by 52, 41 and 35 points -- and that's not likely to continue when league play resumes next week. The win should give Indiana a confidence boost. More important, the nonconference sweep gets them halfway to becoming bowl-eligible.

Hoosiers left tackle Coy Cronk was carted off the field less than six minutes into the game with what appeared to be a serious lower right leg injury.

The fifth-year senior and team captain started all 40 games since arriving on campus -- a streak that seems likely to end next Saturday.

Ohio State

J.K. Dobbins ran for 193 yards and scored twice while Justin Fields threw three touchdown passes to lead No. 6 Ohio State to a 51-10 rout. The Hoosiers found out how far they still must go to compete against the Big Ten's top teams. With their running game stalled, Payton Ramsey was forced to rely almost exclusively on his arm. And when the Hoosiers couldn't sustain drives, the defense wore down fast. It was the most lopsided margin in the series since the Buckeyes' 44-3 victory in 2006.

The Panthers didn't have any answers. The 52 - 0 point victory was the most the Hoosiers would score since posting 49 against  Missouri in 1990.
