New AD Glass says coach stays...for now
A blog dedicated to Indiana University Football
At the start of the season most fans had hoped IU would race out to a quick start and a possible bowl.
Now it appears we've hit rock bottom, the tank is dry and we running on fumes!
IU's first scoring drive went 13 plays and amassed 99 yards. The drive tied IU and NCAA records. The last time the Hoosiers had a 99-yard drive was 1998 when quarterback Antwaan Randle El drove the Hoosiers down the field and they scored on a 1-yard run by Chris Gall. Saturday, the Hoosiers used three quarterbacks on their 99-yard drive. Ben Chappell ran seven plays, Kellen Lewis had five and Mitchell Evans had one.
Eric Decker had a career game in yards (190) and receptions (13) forcing the defense to be on the field for 38 minutes. The offense could not get anything going completing only one of ten third down conversions. The last game in the Dome. IU ran 48 plays - 24 passes and 24 rushes. 6 penalties (killing our drives/keeping theirs alive), 3 turnovers, a dropped INT and a dropped pass were the difference in this game.
Marcus Thigpen had a breakout game - rushed for 100 yards. He rushed for 98 yards in the first quarter - for two scores. With that the rout was on!
