Both teams struggled to get much going on offense for much of the game. Penn State came up with just enough big plays.Bill Belton scored on a 92-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7 points apiece. Penn State tacked on two field goals in the second half to beat Indiana 13-7. Indiana drew first blood when safety Mark Murphy picked off Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg for a touchdown.
Tevin Colman rushed for 71 yards and finished with less than 100 yards rushing for the first time in 10 games.
The Nittany Lions had negative 4 rushing yards and moved the ball just 56 total yards in the first quarter. By halftime, Penn State and IU combined for 1 of 14 on third down conversions.
