In the first half, IU
halfback Stephen Houston ran for 123 yards on 17 carries for three touchdowns.
He also had four receptions for 39 yards. The Hoosiers would account for 264
yards of offense in the first half. The Boilers would respond in the third
quarter by scoring three straight before the Hoosiers would tie the game at 35
early in the 4th quarter. 28 points off of turnovers in the second
half along with poor tackling by the Hoosiers would seal the deal for the
Boilers to win the 88th Old Oaken Bucket Game 35-56.
Purdue leads the
all-time series against IU 72-37 with six ties.
