It was too much Matt McGloin and Allen
Robinson for Penn State Saturday afternoon at Beaver Stadium.
McGloin threw for 395 yards and four
touchdowns, three of them to Robinson, as Penn State defeated Indiana 45-22. Robinson
had 10 catches for 197 yards and the three scores.
Indiana only trailed 14-13 midway through the
second quarter before Penn State scored
two touchdowns at the end of the half to build a 28-13 lead at intermission.
IU came back to cut the lead to 28-22 in the
third quarter but the Nittany Lions scored 17 unanswered points to put the game
away.
Indiana quarterback Cameron Coffman had a big
day in a losing effort. He completed 33-of-59 passes for 454 yards with two
touchdowns and two interceptions.
The loss ended IU’s hopes for bowl
eligibility. The Hoosiers (4-7, 2-5 Big Ten) will close out the season next
Saturday at Purdue in the Old Oaken Bucket game.
