For the first time since 1987, Indiana has defeated a top-10 opponent. The Hoosiers took down No. 8 Penn State in overtime, 36-35.
The Hoosiers wouldn't go down without a fight. And fight they did. With 22 seconds remaining Michael Penix Jr. engineered a 75-yard touchdown drive, capped off by a two-point conversion to send the game to overtime at 28-28.
In overtime Indiana went to the run and Scott got a first down to start the drive. Then after a couple plays went nowhere, Penix hit Whop Philyor for a nine yard touchdown, making it 35-34.
Tom Allen decided to go for two. Michael Penix Jr. ran it to the left corner, outstretches and hit the pylon. Called a touchdown, after a long review, the play stands, and Indiana wins, 36-35.
