True freshman and third string quarterback Zander Diamon got the start for the Hoosiers, his first in college. He managed to score to on a 9 yard run to put Indiana up 17-14. Michigan State at #8 in the country would answer with 42 unanswered points to finish 56-17.

Tevin Coleman had his ninth straight 100-yard game, the Indiana record and longest streak in the country. He became the ninth all-time in rushing yards for IU with over 2,300 yards. Shane Wynn became the sixth at Indiana with over 4,000 all-purpose yards.



With the bye week there is much to be addressed with the Hoosiers standing 3-4 and five game left on the schedule.

The Hoosiers spotted the Hawkeyes 21 points, came rolling back to bring it withing seven. Nate Sudfeld went down with a shoulder. Enter true freshman Chris Covington.

Tevin Coleman ran for touchdowns of 83, 45 and 69 yards  for his eighth straight 100-yard game and continues his streak of fifteen consecutive games with at least a touchdown adding to 1,000 yards mid way through the season.

There were seven punts in the third quarter. Hoosiers were only 3-15 in third down conversions for the game.

Final score 45-29

Following the game it was announced that both Sudfeld and Covington would be lost for the season. Sudfeld with a separated shoulder and Covington with a torn ACL..
