Comedian and University of Massachusetts graduate Bill Cosby was present during the coin toss. The game was played in Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass as the stadium on the main campus is under major renovation.
In the first half IU jumped to a 38-6 lead. They had drives of 50 yards (one play), 75 yards (four plays) , 76 yards (six plays), 74 yards (12 plays) 65 yards (eight plays) and 78 yards (12 plays)
Early in the second quarter quarterback Tre Roberson was lost for the year on a broken left leg who had to be taken off the field in an ambulance. Jr. College transfer Cam Coffman was inserted and led the Hoosiers for the remainder of the game. Final Score: 45-6 Eight receiver and nine running backs were used at key positions for the offense.
